KOBE, JAPAN -- Francois-Louis Tremblay of Montreal won the silver in the men's 500 metres before helping Canada to another silver in the men's relay at a short-track speedskating World Cup event.
Amanda Overland of Montreal and Charles Hamelin of Ste-Julie, Que., added bronze medals yesterday as Canada ended the weekend with five podium finishes.
In the men's 500, Si-Bak Sung of South Korea slipped by Tremblay late to take the gold. Tremblay was second in for his third individual medal this season. Yoon-Gy Kwak of South Korea finished third.
Overland's bronze was Canada's first individual medal in women's competition this season.

"I'm very pleased," said Overland. "I tried to control the race as much as possible, but the Koreans got me a little bit. Still, I stayed with it until the end."
